From the very beginning, Harley House Distillery has been rooted in Sussex craftsmanship — creating small-batch spirits that capture the character of our countryside. Today, we’re proud to unveil something truly special: our first-ever Sussex Single Malt Whisky.

This isn’t just another spirit. It’s a milestone — a dream realised by founder Adam, and a first for the region.

The Vision Behind the Malt

For years, Adam has nurtured the ambition of crafting a whisky made entirely in Sussex — from grain to glass. Every detail, from the locally grown barley to the pure water drawn from the Sussex landscape, reflects his commitment to authenticity and place.

Our Sussex Single Malt represents patience, precision, and passion — the culmination of a journey that began the day Harley House first fired up the stills.

Distilled in small batches and matured with time and tradition, our whisky tells the story of Sussex in every sip.

Each 50cl bottle is individually numbered — a collectable piece of local history. Expect notes of gentle oak, honeyed malt, and a whisper of coastal air, evoking the rolling hills and sea breeze of the South Downs.

Only 48 bottles were produced in this first release, each one marking a new chapter in English whisky-making. Smooth, balanced, and beautifully rounded, it’s designed to be savoured — neat, over ice, or shared with those who appreciate craftsmanship.

As with all our spirits, it’s small-batch, hand-distilled, and proudly made in East Sussex.
